1. Certificate in Teaching and Learning at GUB: Step towards Quality & Excellence (14th Batch first phase)8 January 2019-       11 January 2019)

Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (GUCETL) had organized the 3 day long 1st phase of Certificate course in Teaching and Learning (CTL) for the newly recruited faculties of spring semester, 2019 at Green Seminar Hall (A-502). A total of 21 faculties participated in the program from 8th of January to 11th of January, 2019 and among them 15 were male and 6 were female.

2. Certificate in Teaching and Learning at GUB: Step towards Quality & Excellence (2nd Phase; 14th Batch) 22         January,  2019 – 20 May, 2019

Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching & Learning (GUCETL) had organized the 2nd Phase of CTL program from 22 January, 2020 to 20 May, 2020. In this phase the participants of the 8th batch CTL had to attend 3 hours’ session in every week. This training was conducted for 3 months. They had covered 15 modules including writing micro-teaching and Research proposal writing. They had attended the final assessment exam to achieve the completion certificate. The number of participant for the 2nd phase was 21 among them 2 were Assistant Professor.

3. Certificate in Teaching and Learning at GUB: Step towards Quality & Excellence (15th Bathinghingch first phase) 14 May     2019-16 May 2019

Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (GUCETL) Had organized the first phase of CTL-15th batch was occurred 13-16 May, 2019.  There were 28 faculties participated on first phase. GUCETL had completed various types of activity for the development of faculties who are contributing to the higher education of Bangladesh.

4. Certificate in Teaching and Learning at GUB: Step towards Quality & Excellence (2nd Phase; 15th Batch) 21 May, 2019 –        19 September 2019

Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (GUCETL) had organized the 2nd phase of  Certificate in Teaching and Learning of 15th Batch was held in 21 May, 2019 – 19September 2019. Here participants learned about Teaching philosophy, Learning Reflection, Microteaching, teaching portfolio, Research Proposal, ICT in teaching, Outcome based learning and so on.

This was the 2nd Phase of CTL program. In this phase the participants of the 8th batch CTL had to attend 3 hours’ session in every week. This training was conducted for 3 months. They had covered 15 modules including writing

5. CTL-3rd Certificate Award

Green University Center of excellence for Teaching and Learning had organized “CTL Certificate Awarding Ceremony- 2019” on 17 April, 2019 (11 am-1 pm). The chief guest was Hon’ble Chief Guest Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC); Prof.  Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir sir and other respected authorities of GUB were also present there.

6. Certificate in Teaching and Learning at GUB: Step towards Quality & Excellence (16th Batch first phase) 17 September          2019-20 September 2019

Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (GUCETL) had organized the 1st phase of Certificate course in Teaching and Learning (CTL) for the newly recruited faculties of Spring, 2019 semester. A total of 33 faculties participated in the program from 17 September 2019 to 20 September 2019.

7. Teaching for Active Learning Batch 6 (TAL-6) organized at Green University of Bangladesh

Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (GUCETL) had supported in the training of 109 faculties through Foundation for Learning Teaching and Research (fLTR). . It had also contributed in the website development of fLTR and also management of Facebook page for the teaching for active learning courses. The venue of the program was Green University of Bangladesh. The program executed in 18-20 July, 2019.

8. International Teacher’s Day Celebration by Green University of Bangladesh 

Green University of Bangladesh had celebrated World Teacher’s Day 2019 on 9th October 2019. This year’s theme for teacher’s day was “Young Teachers: The future of Professions”. The celebration took place on 9th October, 2019 at Room no: 302, Building: 01. Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir sir delivered the opening speech of the program. Honorable Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Abdu Razzaque sir was also present and shared some of his wonderful words with attendees. Treasurer Mr. Md. Shaheed Ulla sir, all chairpersons and many of the faculty members were present at the program. With numerous inspiring sharings from seniors, enthusiastic performances from juniors and a brief cultural segment completed the celebration wholeheartedly.

9. Green University Initiative for Future Transformers  Project

Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (GUCETL) had coordinated the GIFT program with the support of departments and all Centers (GUBC)

10. Teaching for Active Learning Batch 7

Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (GUCETL) had supported a program on 14-16 November 2019 for the teachers of universities and colleges (both private and public) of Bangladesh at the Campus of University of Asia Pacific (UAP) in Dhaka for teaching for active learning. The Teaching for Active Learning (TAL) is an initiative of the Foundation for Learning, Teaching and Research (ftTR), a platform established by nine Vice Chancellors of reputed private universities with a vision to serve as agents of change for influencing and improving teaching and learning practices at the university level. The chief guest of the program was Professor Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Vice Chancellor, University of Asia Pacific (UAP). A group of well reputed faculty members from both private and public universities is going to be involved as Resource Persons to facilitate the learning sessions of the course. Prof. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Vice Chancellor of Green University, who is a Senior Fellow of UK based Higher Education Academy (HEA) and who has long experience in designing and facilitating teaching courses in higher education, will continue as Director to facilitate the course.

At 5/11/19 Counseling unit and Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (GUCETL )successfully conducted a program about the briefing on “Green University Initiatives for Future Transformers (GIFT) program,7th Batch” to the interested participants in GUB Seminar Room(502), Building A, at 11.30am-1.00pm . Mr. Hasan Al Zubayer Rony (Lecturer & Coordinator, GUCETL), Sanjida Akter Tanni (Lecturer, GUCETL) and Shamsun Nahar (Lecturer & Counselor, Green Psycho-social Counseling unit) were present in that program.

Here, team delivered the conceptual idea, program design, purpose & opportunities about GIFT program towards the qualified students (according to CGPA) who are interested to know details about this program. More than 32 students from different departments who are in 6th or 7th semester were present in this program. An open discussion was held on and we answered different questions of students regarding GIFT program.

12. Inauguration program of Green University Initiative for Future Transformers (GIFT)

Green Psycho-social Counseling Unit and Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (GUCETL) jointly organized the inauguration program of Green University Initiative for Future Transformers (GIFT) on 19/12/19 in IQAC Auditorium (302), Building A at 3.30 p.m. Students of batch 07 was present there along with batch 06.

Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdan Fakir Sir was glorified this event by his kind presence. Center Director, Ms. Serajum Munira madam was also present at the event and provided encouragement to the students.

A warm, friendly and cordial discussion was held within the VC Sir, faculty members and students who are selected for the GIFT program. Students were actively enjoying the session and a photo session with VC Sir was done.

13. Ragging and bulling prohibition data collection update:

A special workshop on Bullying and Ragging was organized by Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning on Oct 28, 2019 at 3pm at GUB IQAC Auditorium, City Campus, Green University of Bangladesh.

The very purpose of the workshop was to make ourselves sensitized on the issues of bullying and ragging and to take appropriate measures to stop and prevent bullying and ragging from Green University of Bangladesh.

Students from different faculty, faculty members & admin staff of GUB participated in the workshop.GUB Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md Golam Samdani Fakir, Pro-VC Prof Dr Abdur Razzak, Treasurer Md Shahid Ullah, Dean of Arts & Social Science Prof. Golam Ahmed Faruki, heads of the different departments of the university were also present at the event.

Different innovative activities were implemented to the participants including faculties & admin staff to sensitize them to the issue & prohibiting these from GUB. Through this workshop the participants got acquainted with the concept of ragging & bullying. Then, the present conditions in our circumstances are discussed among facilitators, faculties & students. Finally, the program ended with case study among groups and after that some suggestions and steps are also recommended from each group of faculties and students to meet the goal. A committee was formed to prohibit ragging from GUB & the convener of this panel was K.M. Wazed Kabir, Chairperson, Department of English.

14. PGD in Higher Education

Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (GUCETL) had successfully completed a consultation session on formulating post-graduate diploma (PGD) in higher education in teaching learning with the support of distinguished faculty members of different universities & teaching learning Centers. The session was organized on 9th December at Syndicate room (GUB), from 4.00pm to 6.30pm. Dr. S M Hafizur Rahman, Professor (IER, DU), Dr. Mahbub Ahsan Khan, Professor (IER,DU), Dr. Kazi Shahidullah, Assistant Professor (BUP), Dr. Mohammad Tareque Rahman, Assistant Professor, (ULAB) were present  as education experts. Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Golam Samdani Fakir, Pro vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, Ms. Serajum Munira (Center Director), Hasan Al Zubayer Rony (Coordinator, GUCETL), Sanjida Akter Tanni, Lecturer (GUCETL) were also present from GUB family. The program was ended up with some constructive consultation & decisions both form GUB educational representative & ambassador experts from different universities.

15. OBE based workshop

Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (GUCETL) had successfully organized a session on OBE based education on 3rd December, at 3.00pm-6.00pm. The venue of the session was room no-502, Building-A. The session was conducted by our honorable Pro vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdur Razzaque. The honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Golam Samdani Fakir including all the Deans and Chairpersons together with senior faculty members of various departments were present in the program. It was a successful session due to the enthusiastic participation of more than 60 faculty members, admin officers, IT section, Library section, Exam controller section, Admission section, Registrar section and almost every department of the Green University.
