Workshop on Teaching for Active Learning (TAL-10)

Foundation for Learning, Teaching and Research (fLTR) and Center of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (CETL) jointly organized a three-day long certificate course on "Teaching for Active Learning (TAL) batch 10 that has been completed with the aim to improve the quality of higher education from June 8th to 10th, 2023 at Green University of Bangladesh (GUB).

A total of 32 faculty from eight public and private universities attended the course which was designed for orienting and developing teaching and learning skills of faculties.

Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Vice Chancellor of GUB and Chairperson of the fLTR provided overall guidance and acted as the lead facilitator and director for the course. Along with eminent educationist like Prof. Dr. M. R. Kabir, DIU, Prof. Dr. Md. Mozahar Ali, former Director of GTI, BAU, Prof. Md. Abdur Razzaque, DU, Dr. Shazzad Hossain, ULAB, Prof. Arshad Mahmud Chowdhury, BRACU, Prof. ASM Shihavuddin, Director of CETL, GUB, Asst. Prof. Hasan Al Zubayer Rony, CETL-GUB facilitated concerned sessions of the course.

The event of TAL-10 certificate giving ceremony brought together esteemed speakers, including Prof. Dr. H M Jahirul Haque, Vice Chancellor of the Canadian University of Bangladesh, and Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Vice Chancellor of GUB. The program also featured a speech by Prof. Dr. Abdur Rab, Treasurer of fLTR, who emphasized the significance of the training program.

The fLTR is a collaborative initiative of nine Vice Chancellors of reputed private universities based on the findings of intensive research on the quality of teaching and learning at higher education in Bangladesh.
